Honestly, it's still a fairly good CPU for the price, but nowadays there are quite a few better options (i.e. AMD A8 series, Intel Core i5, etc) You're better off getting an AM3+ processor or an LGA1155 processor. My 965 lasted quite a while, but it really just isn't up to par anymore. This is my personal opinion though!

I agree with Scottstevens, I have the 955 in my daughters pc and couples with the 660ti it plays far car 3 no problems no bottlenecking at all. Its really good for a older CPU in my opinion
