Hi, I'm looking to buy a monitor for gaming purposes. Having only used a 60hz I'm eager to upgrade to a 144hz (Asus VG248QE). However I have come across the Foris FG2421 which has some 120hz refresh rate doubled to 240hz. The colors are supposedly a lot better than the Asus TN panel too.

I was wondering if it's worth the jump in price?

240hz monitors are not natively running at 240hz, they do it by cheating, flashing the monitor backlight twice per frame basically,

I would just get a 120hz monior

Although you can run that EZIO monitor at 120hz mode, its a VA panel so should be better than TN

I heard that the Eizo's 240hz is "fake" but that it's actually intuitive and not gimmicky, and also as you said the VA panel is better. These things considered is it still not worth the jump in price?
