Hi guys I was just wondering why you need a 500 watt psu if you graphic card watt is only 108?

Because the manufacturers always do overkill on the PSU requirements because there are absolute dogshite PSU's that are rated 600W but can only supply 350W continuous or so.

 

If you know what you're doing and know just a small amount about PSU's you know you can use a quality 430W for a GTX 780 and still have room to spare

The other components need power too, your CPU, motherboard, ram, hard drives, ssds, fans, coolers, etc etc etc all need power

 

Dont forget that PSUs generally work best at 80% load so thats 400 watts, dont forget there are some bad PSUs that say "600w" but is actually a peak power rating, not a continuous power rating which is something like 380 watts instead
