I have joined the PC building community and constructed my first system!  You may be wondering why I chose the name "Lintbox" and that is because I had an AP micro project where you had to trade up from a piece of lint to something, well, more valuable than a piece of lint.  I ended up trading to a thing thats worth about 20 dollars, and used that money to add to my budget for this build.  My inspiration was sparked by that project, hence the name "Lintbox."  I hope to make a case badge next year when i go to IIT where I will have access to an awesome build shop.

Here is the part list for Lintbox 1.0

CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor  (Purchased For $249.99)
Motherboard: Asus Z97-PRO(Wi-Fi ac) ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  (Purchased For $150.00)
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 970 4GB STRIX Video Card  (Purchased For $349.99)
Case: Phanteks Enthoo Luxe ATX Full Tower Case  (Purchased For $149.99)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 - 64-bit (OEM) (64-bit)  (Purchased For $99.99)
Total: $1249.93

And now, for the cable management situation:  Its not a rats nest of cables!  Also notice the lack of HDD cages.  For now, since I don't need them, i removed them to see how much better cooling would be without them.  System was a bit cooler, but not by much

And lastly, a view of my old HDD that came from a samsung laptop (i upgraded it to a faster and bigger drive as it desperately needed it to get a bit better performance out of an aging laptop.  Dont fret, nothing critical is on that drive, and it was all duplicated onto the laptops new drive.

Lastly, heres a beauty shot of the case with all my rooms lights off

The computer is nicely cable managed, the velcro straps in the enthoo luxe are rather handy, though the included USB 3.0 cable was a very tight fit.  This build, while fully functional, isn't complete.  I would like to get some LEDs in the Enthoo Luxe and get a water cooler for the processor so I can OC it.  Im also intent on getting an SSD to use as a boot drive later.  Maybe later on down the road, when gtx 970s become ancient, ill buy another and sli them to get a few more years out of it.  It is dead silent while idle and doing lightweight tasks such as homework and webbrowsing, and while gaming, it isnt very loud either.  It is noticeable, yes, but as long as theres ingame audio, I cant really hear the fans.

Also, just a quick question, would it be ok to wrap the wires leading to the 24 pin connector with electrical tape to hide the rainbow of wires going to it? I want to make the computer look as great as possible!
Pics will come soon, i just need to take some and then upload em.

The enthoo luxe is a very nice case.  try to find em on sale though,  i wouldnt say the 50 dollar premium many websites are tacking on is a bit too much.  It does look nice with its sandblasted finish.  Just be wary of any scratches to the side panel that occur during shipping from the accessories box.  if you find any, contact phanteks and they might send out another one for free

Very nice build! And why haven't you bought a 80+ Gold full modular PSU?

It would have been too expensive.  My budget (excluding peripherals) is $1200 and this corsair bronze PSU should do me well for the next few years

Microcenter.  They sell many things cheaper than normal, however they are in store pickup deals only.  That is also where I got my z97-pro from asus for 150$ since they had a deal where if you get a processor, you get $40 off the sale price (was $20 off at the time, so its normal price is $210).  They were also very helpful in replacing a faulty z97 board i got initially and exchanged it for a working one that I was able to test there by the counter.
