Alright, so i've been using my Alienware m18x for about 2+ years now (Bought it August 2012) and its time that I build a real computer,

- No AMD Cards

- X99 if possible

So i'm looking at around a $2500 build US / CA (doesn't matter)

The goal for this computer is Gaming & Video editing (After Effects)  / Photoshop and daily use..

Games:

FPS Games

RTS Games

GTA V

Far Cry 4

Minecraft

League of Legends

Video Editing / Photoshop

After Effects CC

Photoshop CC

Sony Vegas 12/13

I'm planning on buying two monitors ( I'll need some help choosing two monitors to go along with this build) (MONITORS NOT INCLUDED IN THE 2500$)

possibly adding another monitor down the road

I'll be running Windows 7 or 8.1 not sure yet.

peripherals are included in the pricing / build

I'm upgrading from my Alienware because i've had a lot of problems with blue screens and high heat temps etc.

I've have my video cards replaced three times, twice with the 7970's and the final time they replaced them to 680m's

once the 680's were put in the blue screens stopped and the heat dropped a little bit..

Here is what i've whipped up in my own time: ||||| http://pcpartpicker.com/p/RthmWZ ||||| this might be over kill but this is a type of build i'm looking at building (Custom cables etc. beautiful blue built.. :)

Suggestions / Tips :)

 Thanks

- Quinten

Hell... It's about time.

A 500-600W PSU is enough, unless you want to do SLI in the future. You can get a 500GB SSD for less than $200, then you won't have to do RAID. Lightz build is fine.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/rsjRHx Just over budget by $50. Its X99 and has 2 970s that will outperform a single 980. Windows is not included

PC is Intel Core i5 6400, GIgabyte H170 Gaming 3, Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x4GB 2400Mhz ,Sandisk Ultra Plus 128GB, WD Blue 1TB, NZXT S340, ASUS Geforce GTX 960. Fractal Design Tesla R2 650W. http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/793XNG. Graphics card choices don't always have to be dictated on performance. If you want the game stream and power consumption of the GTX 970 get that. If you want raw performance of the R9 390 get that. In the end we are all gamers, so what if your buddy gets an extra 5 fps?

If you can increase your monitor budget by an extra $200 ypu could get two BenQ XL2420G, 144Hz 1ms G-Sync Hybrid Engine for $600 each on Newegg, there's an offer and you get a double monitor stand free.

Awesome I think i'll get those :) Thanks
