Windows 7 -> 8.1 (Again)

I have Windows 7 OEM on my latpop

Can I use that key on my desktop, upgrade it to windows 8.1

Then use the key again on my laptop?

No... if you upgrade a key you don't have it anymore

 

So there is no way out of buying a second copy of windows for my desktop? (besides other OS)

If you upgrade the key itself, the key becomes whatever you upgraded it to.

 

If you buy separate Windows 8.1, then the Win 7 key can still be used.
