Well I'm on a overwhelmingly tight budget, the computer has to be between $200-$250. This computer is for my dad. He primarily checks his email. Browses the web occasionally and plays games like zuma. I really don't know if i should build it since windows is $85 or buy a pre-built. Disk drive is a must. Any and all help would be amazing. Thanks.

Another option like the dual core that was listed above is to get an integrated A4-5000 motherboard. That would be even cheaper at $50-$60 (sadly currently $69.99 @ the egg but have seen cheaper). It has a quad core A4-5000 CPU soldered to the board (BGA) with an integrated cooler. You buy the CPU pre attatched to the board as a package.

This way at least you're getting a quad core CPU. I have one in my laptop, exact same chip. It's pretty impressive.

Intel Inside. Overweight guy in his 30's outside.

My dad is 62 years old and refuses to learn anything new. He would end up getting frustrated and probably throw the computer out the window.
