Recommendations on future build

Go to solution Solved by Epic_Nex,

I agree that, in general, the Intel build will be better, but if we consider pure gaming, will it be the same?

no the intel will do better because they perform better at games that use only a few cores, which most do. AMD CPUs wont do better in gaming until DEVs start optimizing their games to use more cores, which they probably wont for a good while

Hey guys! So, I've been planning my build for about 3 months and I think I've come to a decision on what to do.

Well, I can't decide if I should go with an Intel based build or an AMD build

INTEL

So, can you help me decide? You can also tell me to change something

Side notes

1. Budget & Location
I live in Portugal (Europe) so I'll be buying everything from Amazon
I have a max budget of 1000$

2. Aim
Mostly gaming, also some light 3D rendering, small video editing (just for fun) and a bit of programming

3. Monitors
I only have an old one, so you could suggest one

4. Peripherals
Already have everything, no worry

5. Why are you upgrading?
I have a laptop that can no longer do what I need to do

Also I want to make my brother jealous and bring him to the PCMASTERRACE, since he has a PS4

Thanks!

I swapped a couple things around got you a better video card and that case you had idk if it was pure preference or what but it was on the expensive side for what you were getting the Fractal Design Define R4 is a way better case than the Corsair 450D and the R4 is right at $40 cheaper right now which allows you to afford a R9 290 GPU. You could also save some money on that RAM also but again I am assuming since you went with White Ram thats a preference item. If the RAM isnt as important here is another version thats even cheaper just swapping the ram out in my build above.

Looks good, the only problem is that I need to get everything from Amazon or another website that ships to Europe

About the GPU, I don't mind having just the R9 280X instead of the R9 290

Alright no prob but do look at the Fractal case over the corsair one since your spending a lot more money for a worse case the Fractal one is so much better for building in.
