Well I just installed my 212x cooler to prepare for the heat of summer in Australia (with much difficulty). However, idle temps are quite high and I'm not sure why. Idle temps usually sit around 50-60 degrees celsius which sort of worries me but doesn't really have much effect on my pc anyway because I ran Prime 95 and the cpu didn't go above 85 degrees and stayed near silent the entire time however with the stock cooler I got close to 110 degrees and it was loud as a jet engine.

So really there isn't actually much of a problem, however idle temps are really weird because before (with the stock cooler) I was getting 33 degrees at idle. So should I be worried?

Most likely your thermal paste is not applied correctly. What is your CPU?
