So, I recently read an article that states that the type of monitor you use can impact your gaming performance significantly. It can even cause your fps to tank. Is there any truth to that?

No.

That being said resolution does matter and can impact performance. Size, brand, panel type, those things don't matter.

Cause your fps to tank? Sound like serious BS to me. It can effect your gaming with things like latency but it won't effect your hardware outputting frame. I guess with a reeaaaly bad panel your monitor might now be able to keep outputting images at a static rate. That would be bad.

Wrong. If you enjoy playing games such as Skyrim with ENBs or something (as I do), having a nice IPS panel compared to a washed out TN will make a difference. Size is a matter of preference, as is brand. But panel type is important. (Won't impact performance though, that's resolution, as you stated).

My bad, read "Gaming Experience" when it actually said "Gaming Performance".

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

I think Ashley meant performance, and not experience.

I realized that right after I posted that, so I put the little "My bad..." thing at the bottom.
