Haswell hd graphics 4600 for minecraft?

Go to solution Solved by Profquast,

You can run minecraft easily. I'm using a i3 2100 with an amd radeon hd 6450, which is as far as i know worse than the 4600, and i get about 80 fps.

So i am getting a 4670k, with 8gb veangeance, 500r, samsung ssd. And in a few weeks hopefully a 770 or maybe a 760 (ti?). But for now will intel hd graphics 4600 run something like minecraft vanilla. Or maybe even super modded with feed the beast. Can a get some fps estimastes (educated guesses please?) thanks guys

Double check everything, I am usually wrong.

I mean, i have a macbook pro with i7 2.9 ghz, 4000 graphics, and 8gb ram. It runs minecraft maxed out, even super modded maxed out. Why cant 4600 run maxed out?

  • 2 weeks later...

Ill test this out for you unless youve already done so. My ram arrives tommorow so ill be able to do a first boot on my first hand built gaming pc. Minecraft is one of my top games along far cry 3 and crysis 3. Will see what the 4670k has to offer =)

Minecraft to be quite honest, runs like shit on onboard graphics, even a low end card will be considerably better than the onboard.

My friend gets about 50fps maxed with hd2000 so it would fine. I only get 60fps but i think vsync is evolved as my gpu usage and cpu usage are both under 20% for the game.

I get 80fps on minecraft maxed out on a 1080p screen.....no dedicated graphics on my 4670k.....my fx6100 with a 7750 ran around 200fps.....so when i get my 7950 im expecting in the region of 280+ fps atleast

Don't expect 60 frames in Feed the Beast though when you're at a big base with lots of stuff going on. I have two 660 TIs and an i5 3750K, and I barely get 40-45 frames in our base, but well over 300 when i'm outside the base.
