Oculus Rift Question

Not sure if this is the right place... Anyway, this is a question I've had for the longest time, but for some reason never bothered to ask. It's also possibly a stupid one!

 

When you use the Oculus Rift, what does it look like? Does it have the fish-eye effect that watching video captured from it does (Like on YT), or does it all seem smooth? And does it cover your perhipheral vision, or is it just in the center?

 

I know not many people have one, but this forum HAS to have a few, right? Maybe even @LinusTech or @Slick could anwser this one :o
