Hi All,

I live in St. Louis, Missouri and I am interested in building a gaming oriented pc within the 800-900 dollar range. I'm not very knowledgeable about how to avoid bottlenecking in a system so any suggestions would be great! I'm not really in the need of a keyboard or a mouse, but any suggestions on cheap, relatively nice monitors (not included in overall budget itself) are more than welcome. I'd like to be able to game in ultra settings on whatever game I play with decent frame rates. Budget is tight so I'd really like to stick to the price that has been set. This is going to be my first build so please help! If you have any questions for me, I'll try my best to answer in a timely fashoin.

Thanks Again,

Alec

You could easily drop the SSD and pickup a GTX 970, get better raw performance, however, I feel that an SSD generally improves your overall computer, and Windows experience.
As for monitors, based off of your budget, i'm assuming that you're looking at 1080p monitor(s)?
You looking for a single, dual, triple, or larger setup?

Thank you so much for the super speedy response! Regarding the parts you recommended, what type of performance could I expect from this machine? And in regards to the monitors a single bright 1080p display would be fine for my needs.

You could expect to max out, or reach high levels on everything but the most demanding games. The 770 is a very solid card. It's a generation old, and not top of the line from the previous generation - that title goes the 780Ti) but still plenty sufficient for 1080p gaming.

My recommendation on a monitor would be the Asus VS238H-P

it's a 23" 60hz 1080p TN panel.
