Need help with SLI

Go to solution Solved by Mick Naughty,

I just ran a benchmark with Valley Benchmark at Ultra settings and it didn't go under 50 fps. It also told me that it used both GPUs. Is it fixed then?

Seen the pic. Seems fine. The other pic only shows one gpu. That's your problem. Test both cards individualy, then both PCI slots.

your Specs Please ?

Reinstall the driver, also perform clean install. You cant just throw in another card then expect everything to work right away. Re install and all your option should reappear, then select maximum 3d performance, its not gonna say "enable sli here".

Actually that's exactly how it works, no driver reinstall is required unless the previous driver install went wrong. On the Nvidia side mutil GPU is plug and play.

I swap between one and two cards all the time, I have the same problem he is talking about, not saying that is the cause but it should always be the first thing done. If that is how it works I wouldn't have so much micro stutter when I game.

Just down load the NVidia driver and perform a clean install, no real need to uninstall first.

Why is it not working then? I have 2x 760 2gb in my computer. It tells my that I have 4gb available. The last driver update went well. I'm using Nvidia Experience.

Once again it's proven that everyone's experience will vary when it comes to PC's, I can go from one card to two and back again without issue, hell I went from my 760's to a GTS 250 without reinstalling the driver and it worked perfectly fine.

Sometimes an issue can occur with the driver install that does not prevent it from installing. The only indication that anything went wrong is when you have some sort of issue, I had something like that happen and it would cause me to blow a BSOD when I tried to turn on shadowplay. Another time an install hiccup made it to where my driver would crash whenever I tried to open GFE.

Reinstall the driver, custom install, select the box "perform clean install".

List system specs so we can confirm what ever bs maybe be causing the problem.

Going on the vagueness of the mobo, I assume it would support sli. So as long as the right ports are being used and the sli bridge is on the correct sli fingers and both cards are receiving power you should be fine.

Well, I did the clean reinstall now and it still isn't working. Guess I'm going to have to open my computer.

What version of windows are you currently running?

A pic of whats going on inside might help, unless you're positive on what you're looking for.

I'm running Windows 8.1 64bit. I just checked the power for the GPUs and they where ok. The fans are spinning on both. The sli option is still not showing up though.

No... You mean mobo or gpu?

If the cards where to have different bio's you can flash them to match but besides that updating the bios couldn't hurt.

So the sli option still isn't coming up?

Seen the pic. Seems fine. The other pic only shows one gpu. That's your problem. Test both cards individualy, then both PCI slots.

I'm really sorry for having wasted your time:( I took a 5th look inside the case and started to pull in some of the cables in the rat-nest of cables... The second GPU cable wasn't connected to the PSU. Sorry  :(

Not a big deal, simple fixes are always the best. It just helps when people do all of the basic trouble shooting first before coming here, saves time like you said.
