Different ram sizes on one mobo?

That'd make for a total of 40GB of RAM. That's an odd RAM amount. Unless I'm misunderstanding something.

Would 1x8 and 6x4 so 32 gb in 7 also work?

I am wondering if it is possible to add 16gb (2x8) to the current 24gb(6x4) ram modules on my mobo. I have the P9 x79 from asus.

 

100% fine
