It's amazing. built my rig in June, and I'm actually somewhat tempted to get the i5 bundle, and swap out my 8320. Would really be worth it? Even since my rig is so new?

Primarily Gaming (Always lots of ArmA, and all your other popular games -Skyrim, Dragon Age: Inquisition, pretty much everything-). The odd time I'll watch YouTube or a movie or browse the web or something, but never anything other than primarily gaming.

EDIT: The only thing really holding me back is the fact that my rig is rather new, so I'm not sure if it's completely worth it.

Well...Isn't Arma largely multi-core dependent? I would say your rig right now is probably fine, you don't need to spend money on the upgrade...but you can if you want, it'll just be quite a waste of money

If you are already getting good fps in games I don't really see a reason why you should. Upgrading to the i5 would only give you a small performance gain honestly. You should just wait for a new generation of processors from Intel and see what they have to offer then.

Yeah. It just got me thinking, I was running 25fps today, and a buddy with a 4690k was maxed out at 60fps.

 

I'm totally fine with my current rig, I just wasn't sure if it would be worth the money, or if it would be a waste. Theoretically, yes, I can afford it, but if it would really be a waste it might be better to put some money towards new case fans, a new case, and a 2nd monitor instead.

That's what really has me on the edge. I get 25fps, buddy with 4690k was at 60.

I believe we were both 1080p, and honestly I'm not sure what his GPU is.

 

But I do know, that GPU doesn't play much of an effect in arma. There's people with 780 Ti+'s in sli, but people with single 600's - 760's out preforming them.

wat. GPU does matter a lot, the people with SLi 780tis are doing something wrong if thats happening.

But from what I've gathered not as much in Arma.

I'm just extremely torn. I also want a 2nd monitor, and a new case, and I don't want to be dropping like $800 for all that, nor do I want to put everything in my old case, only to take it apart and put it in a new case eventually

EDIT: i do suppose if i do buy it, ill be skipping the monitor

Anyway op, if you still have the 8320 then keep it, it's still a good cpu. The only reason on why i would not recommend one is when your gonna pick out thr parts becausw you could get something better for your money.

I'm actually going to NOT get it. I think someone shit the bed on me, and messed up the price. It has been changed from $299, to $350.

 

Looks like I might grab a case, second monitor, and some fans instead.
