So, I'm building a system for someone else.  I've got the motherboard in, the connectors plugged in, the power supply on, the ram in, the cpu in, the cpu cooler. And essentially everything done.

But... the system won't power on, the green light on the motherboard is on.   But, the fans won't spin, lights wont turn on.  NOTHING WORKS.  And its so frustrating!   Here are the specs:

Asus h97-plus

Stock cooler

i3 4160 cpu

corsair 330r case

cooler master v450s power supply

wd caviar blue 1TB

Please help would be greatly appreciated :'(   I'm getting more paperclips so I'll do the test on the power supply.

Did you plug in the front panel switches and make sure they are on the correct pins? Power it on by the MB/hotswitch it with a screw driver or something

Hey Mike_The_B0ss,

I would follow @William12h's advice. Also try reseating all your parts and replug all the cables and make sure they are plugged in properly all the way. Also test your PSU if it's not faulty. Clearing the CMOS wouldn't hurt.

Sorry to hear that. I hope everything is fixed now and you won't have to deal with more problems. :)

Yeah, poor guys who bought the parts.  They have to deal with this terrible customer service, mainly because the store keeps blaming me for it yet the motherboard was DOA.  I even told them with proof that a new motherboard with the same chipset (H97) worked just fine.

Thanks for your help anyways, and Thanks for your wishes.  I hope you have a great Christmas :)
