I just reformatted my PC and I had to re-download Battlefield 3 and Crysis 3 over a 7MBPS DSL connection. Its been going all day and the DLC and Crysis 3 are still going. I noticed a while ago that origin had an option to keep game installers. Right away I assumed that this would mean I didn't have to re-download the game to re install it. Boy was i wrong. Origin game installers has never worked for me since I bought Battlefield 3 or Crysis 3. Basically I'm just wondering when EA/origin will fix this huge issue with their software.

Hmm Origin is kinda buggy sometimes. Let's just say EA's software is a bit rough. Is it installing ?

I don't think anybody here could answer that. But my best educated guess is they'll fix it when every EA game is on Steam. :P

I have a question for you though. Why not get an external storage device to backup the game files to?

Yea everything works I just would rather have a installer then have to re-download the 35+GB game every time i re-install origin.

I tried that before and it would not detect the games files at all. i tried that three separate times in the past and it didn't work any of the times it just started downloading and took all day.

before formatting make a partition and put all the game files on that partition, that reinstall on the main partition and move the game files back on the main partition or use another hdd/ssd and keep it has a data drive so you you dont need to redownload all your origin/steam games, music, movies ect. its what i do :)
