Just put two Kingston drives (SSD now 300) in RAID 0 and installed Windows and ran a benchmark. I hit writes of up to 900 MB/s and read speeds of a bit past 1 gigabyte a second!! needless to say I am very happy! (One reason (aside from feeling really happy about myself) is that I would like to disprove those people that say that RAID is stupid and doesn't provide much of a performance boost.)

Thanks for listening to my ramble.

I know what RAID is. As I dont have anything that I care about that I dont backup regularly I don't need RAID 1 (I backup to my NAS which is RAID 1). And I don't have enough money to afford RAID 10. But if I did i would probably use it.

Make sure you can do trim on them.

Sir William of Orange: Corsair 230T - Rebel Orange, 4690K, GA-97X SOC, 16gb Dom Plats 1866C9,  2 MX100 256gb, Seagate 2tb Desktop, EVGA Supernova 750-G2, Be Quiet! Dark Rock 3, DK 9008 keyboard, Pioneer BR drive. Yeah, on board graphics - deal with it!

That's what I thought. I will wager that you'll miss the trim function long before the speed increase impresses you. One reason I don't like RAID.

Hmm. I hope that they last long enough that the new SSD technology will be a "must have" and be really cheap. I'm wagering about 3 years...when I'd have to get a completely new build anyway. I hope it lasts that long.
