SSD is a no brainer. you will feel the difference on start up and launch of games installed on said SSD.

I suggest you get at 240/256gb ssd, brands like crucial, kingston, Intel, samsung, mushkin etc are very good.

I would install a fresh OS if I were you.

before installation, I would disconnect HDD, plug SSD, launch windows installation, once your OS is install, shut it down, make sure you bios boot from the new ssd and not the HDD.

may your framerates be high and your temperatures be low. #pcmr

Wow, thanks a lot dude! I have a fresh windows 7 lying here. So I should install that to the ssd? Sorry for the probably a bit retarded questions but I am new to computers. :)

If you can afford it, don't even think twice. Get a MX100 256GB.

About the Windows "transfer", there isn't such thing, I think. Re-install it in the SSD. And then just change the boot priority in the BIOS  ;)

hey np! what I meant by fresh windows install, is just reinstall your windows 7 with the current cdkey you use on the SSD. you can later delete windows files stored on the HDD.

in best case scenario, if you can format that HDD from all its data (dont forget to backup your important data) that be great, and only confirm that there is no leftover data from the previous OS.

P.S. you're at the right place to ask questions.

If you have the money, shure!

It's a good thing to have your OS and frequently used programs. But do not put your frequently changed data on it, this will kill your SSD a bit everytime(takes a long time) and there really is no point to put this stuff on your ssd, because you woudn't need the extra speed for that.
