Hey this is me set up and I know that it is not as impressive as the ones here on the Build Log, but I take pride in my setup/rig. I built my own computer and bought all of the things you see there in the pictures. I am still trying to upgrade my pc. I was thinking about upgrading my computer case and video cards. I am open to any suggestions on how I can improve my rig! Suggestions and opinions really help. Enjoy! ^_^

Rig:
i5-3570k running at 4.4ghz
Sapphire 5850 Xtreme Edition Overclocked
8gb Corsair Vengence RAM
Corsair CX 750w (non-modular)

320gb Seagate 7200 rpm HDD
1tb Seagate 7200 rpm HDD
NZXT Tempest 420 Elite
Enermax ETS-T40-TB CPU Cooler
ASUS P8Z77-V LK

Peripherals:
Old Logitech wireless media keyboard (love this baby)
E-Blue mouse
Mizore Shirayuki Mouse Pad
Creative Speakers (Don't know the model sorry)

ASUS Laptop A8-4500m (Going to upgrade to an A10-4600m)

I'm an otaku and I'm proud of it!! >.< Oh and I'm not some creepy old dude >.> I am 16.

Btw this whole setup only cost me around $700-$730.

Show your friends, dogs, hamsters, etc.! I love to hear their opinions on my rig and feedback! :DD

PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT ON YOUR THOUGHTS! ^_^

I did not buy this computer, it was my dad's old computer. It's so old but I am thinking about upgrading it or maybe turning it into something. Any suggestions?

****UPDATES****

I just recently went to L.A and I found out there was a Japan Town there. So I decided to buy some stuff to make my setup even sweeter ^_^ I got some Japanese shirts, some paper lamps, and a Ano Natsu wall scroll :DDD

I changed my wallpaper and got a Kuroneko Rainmeter ^_^ Also I got a Kuroneko Windows 7 theme. So every time I start up my computer, it plays the Oreimo theme song (Packaged Irony by ClariS) and every time I shut down my computer, it has Kuroneko saying some stuff.

I had the Black Rock Shooter wall scroll when I took my last pictures of my setup. It just was not near my rig. And the poster on my door is by an artist named yuumei on deviantart. She is really amazing so I suggest you guys check her out!

:3 Angel Beats T-Shirt!

Awesome build overall. If nothing else, turn your dad's old computer into an epic router.

For my pertinent links to guides, reviews, and anything similar, go here, and look under the spoiler labeled such. A brief history of Unix and it's relation to OS X by Builder.

Maybe, but it's really old. Like its running the OS before Windows Vista, and I don't really need a new router since I got a new one recently. Gotta represent Angel Beats man!

The only suggestions I'd have for improving your rig is add an SSD for boot and snappier program loading times, and / or get a new video card. Something like a 7870 / gtx 660/760 may be good options if you can afford them?

Man I wish could buy an ssd, but they are pricey, and system boots up pretty fast already. I was thinking about a 7950 or a 670 when the price lowers down. Really hoping it does ^.^

I think you should cool your dad's old pc with mineral oil. It would be a fun project.

You're right! But I want it to preform decent, because the parts right now are poop LOL

Yah true but if some of the parts were to get ruined at least you would know they were poop.

So you're looking at a higher-end GPU, alright, well prices for the 670 can only come down since the new 770's release. Keep checking back for price updates, otherwise a 7870 is pretty solid for it's price. :)

True true. I'm going to see if I can at least upgrade the OS to windows 7. If so I will do the aquarium build ^.^

If I might ask what are the specs?

Believe it or not, I bid for some of my parts. My 5850 only cost my 90 which is insane for the price. My ram cost me 40. I'll be looking into the 7870. Either dual 7870 or one 670

Dual 7870's would be nice, you could buy one and start gaming while saving up for the second. That's what I'm doing, eventually getting 2 GTX 770's in SLI.

Try bidding for a *NEW* condition SSD. Even if it's only 60GB it'll be worth it.

But wouldn't buying a 670 be cheaper and somewhat better considering physx? Low blow I know sorry radeon :/

Personally, I think physx is very overrated. Many people prefer to play without it. In terms of FPS, the dual 7870's in CF would perform better. It's your choice whether you care about physx enough to go for a single 670. You could go dual 650 ti BOOSTs?

I heard that dual 650 ti Boost almost has or better performance than a 670. True?

Yup, but not in every game.
