So this is for a friend. Don't worry about the budget, please, he also doesn't pay the VAT. He can go £50 more and it will all be fine.

Are there any parts you'd switch out for other equally performing parts and why? "Cheaper" is not a reason he wants, it should be better performing otherwise there's no need to replace it.

He's going to do a lot of streaming on it, that's why the i7 is chosen and also if he can afford it, the extra edge is always good.

The G45 motherboard doesn't give anything extra that he would have use for compared to the G43 or the ASUS mobo that is already in there. He's not an overclocker, he just wants the best he can get for that price without any extra nonsense like super mega awesome OC features and stuff like that.

And after talking with him again it's actually not 50 more he can spend it's 150 more.

What I'm thinking is maybe increase the SSD to a 256GB?

I suggest getting a motherboard w/ a better power phase like a Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD3H or whatever board you can find cheaper that has a good power phase design because that'll have a huge effect on both performance and stability of his system.

So he is obviously going to be gaming so explain to me why the Killer NIC and the wayyy better onboard sound isn't something that he would use? Also the better power phases so he will have a more stable and longer lasting system? or maybe the better looks, or maybe it just being a better board period for not that much more?

No VAT to pay??? :o thats handy. so hes not much of an overclocker so you're getting a cheaper board yet you have opted for a H100i just for aesthetic?

The H100i is not that much more expensive compared to something like the H80i or the H80, just about £10 more expensive.

Going with the G45 board. "Better looks" is very subjective, I for one think MSI has some of the most horrible looking boards, especially the "Gaming" boards, most "Gaming" boards are just horrible looking.

Jag skulle sattsa på 2x8gb RAM, annars ser det grymt ut!

That was edited to 16GB, he himself added 16GB to that when he placed the order.

This is what the final build looks like: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/15WQw

Get the 250GB Samsung 840, not the 256GB Pro. The performance is negligible for anything but a scratch disk but the price is a pretty big gap.
