Should I get them? Will they be worth more soon? Are they great for the 200$ price?

Ok, but in terms of sound, are they good for the price? The regular k702 are 240$, 65 anniversary are 370$

They are the k702 65 anniversary headphones. Same drivers. So they are basically them.

They're the same as the 702 but come with gel pads that increase the bass response a bit. Somewhere in-between a 712 and normal 701/702. If you were already planning on getting an AKG I'd say might as well grab the 7XX while you can. If you had something else in mind, I'd caution against getting pulled in to the hype.

I had the k612 pro in mind, for 140$, but these seem better, for not too much more

There is a thread on Head-fi on them http://www.head-fi.org/t/743280/new-release-the-k7xx-massdrop-first-edition-an-exclusive-from-massdrop-and-akg where someone got a chance to test them by looking at the graphs I've seen they are similar to the K702 Anni and K712 Pro. I couldn't help myself and got one though since the K712 Pro are overpriced in Australia like usual

ordered a pair, first headphones i'll have of this nature (first open back, first reference, first thing labled with "audiophile" anywhere).. 

Between Barnacules and his headphones, Linus doing a review (before the drop hopefully), and Tek Syndicate saying "kill your headset" I figured it was a pretty freaking good deal for $650 msrp headphones being $200...

The MSRP might be $650 but i'm pretty sure it's not going to be that expensive buying it. K702 itself sounds almost the same as K701 and you can find them for $150-250 in the market. The higher price tag is simply because it's limited edition :P

 

For anyone who's buying this headphone, amp-ing is almost a must, just bear this in mind

I wouldn't recommend a beginner get sucked into the hype, but if you've got the spare cash anyways and like wasting it on frivolous things then at least this wont be completely useless item. It'll likely be the best thing your ears have ever heard.
