The base model is 550 for an i3, custom 860M (750 ti that is not replaceable), 4 GB ram, and 500 GB of storage, so that's a bit too expensive... For an extra 150, you double the ram and storage.. Leading into my next point, would the 4 gigs of ram slow down the performance.. And from a gaming standpoint, why would you need a better CPU? As long it doesn't bottleneck it'll be fine! So what's your take on it?

No don't get the alienware alpha you can make a better pc with that money. If you looking for small factor pc's then get a micro atx board along with a small case.

The computer you described for the price you described is OVERPRICED.

This is why you are getting the seemingly "off topic" responses.

You can build your own PC with an equivalent processor, motherboard, a 750ti, 8GB of RAM, a 1TB HDD, case, and an Xbox 360 controller (if you really needed one) for less than $550.

Oh no, one alienware computer is enough to last me a lifetime! I'm just curious to see what you guys have to say! And the part about ram bottlenecking

Honestly I think its really good value for money, 4gb will be fine for most things, I would buy the base spec and upgrade to 8gb of ram myself

What kind of motherboard and in what way is the GPU not replaceable? Don't think you can do way better for the same budget but probably can do 8 Gb RAM on that? If you know the precise components look how much it would cost if you would buy the components yourself.

500 (550 without rebates) dollar rig that's on par with ps4 and xbone.. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/NBpZGX

Who needs the alpha when you can build something like this?
