So while playing games with my msi 970 gaming I get grey screens which sometimes lock my pc.I can play with my card oc'd to 1510mhz but if i add about 400mhz to the vram I get grey screens after about 20 min of game time playing WoW/Unity .I know its the vram because when I reset it it doesnt happen again.

Is oc'ing vram that important?I play on a single 1080p monitor btw.Should I just stick it out with the core clock boost and forget vram? Any help would be great.

Have you tried just OCing it by just 200 - 300MHz instead of the full 400MHz?

Honestly I haven't, I'm still very new to overclocking gpus. When i first got it I was stable at 400mhz, which is why I stayed there. When it happened in say WoW I could alt tab out and back in and I could play without another hiccup for the rest of the night, which always seemed odd.

But I'll try at 2/300 with those games and see how it goes.

Hmm...well that is odd.

Alright. Well if you find that you have no problems you could slowly increase it to see how much of an OC you can get before you start to run into problems. :)
