I forgot the password I use to log into my user on my laptop, my friend decided to take out my HD and plug it into his desktop and delete my user from the drive. Not when I turn on my laptop it does not end up getting to a user screen. What Can I do to fix this?

So.... if your friend deleted your user stuff..... it's gone. You could try using recuva on another system to get the deleted user files back, but probably not, and will have some issues. Will probably need a re-install at this point, unfortunately.

Next time, take a look at Hirens Boot CD - it has password tools on it.

I dont care about the data but how would I go about fixing this step by step?

Launch startup repair from the boot screen.

Go to the command prompt option

type net user administrator /active:yes

This will enable the admin account and you should be able to login to it with no password.

There is no option at the boot like that it just takes me straight into the bios. It's a toshiba satellite.
