Hi again.

 

After some saving up, i decided to run with 2 MSI 770 Gaming in SLI. This with the 4770k led me to the question, which power supply will I need? I'm planning on a Corsair AX series PSU due to the great looks and functionality and I will be choosing either the 760 or the 860. Also, what are the benefits of the 'i' versions. Is it significant enough to save up for?

go for the ax860 as its cheaper, has a quieter fan and is made by seasonic whereas the ax860i is made by flextronics and has a louder fan.

thanks for the notice, but my question still remains. will an 760 power a 4770k w/ dual 770's or do i have to step it up to an 860. also are there any positives to weigh out the noise and price increase?

I believe the ax760 and ax860 do have coil whine issues, whereas the i versions don't.

i would go with the 860, you could probably use the 760 watt but with the 860 it will be running at a lower % load.

they do have different fans so that could be possible, i don't know ive never heard them both running.
