Is the extra SGD $50.00 worth it?

Daniel91

I'm comparing these boards for a friend's upgrade from her old biostar ddr 2 pc, she's a very light gamer ,mostly MMORPGs and racing games and some FPS gaminga like  Titansfall and assasin's creed, She doesn't overclock an the parts she needs are:

Motherboard

CPU i5 4460 - $150.00

RAM Corsair Vengeance Pro 1600MHz CL9 (red or grey) - $129.00

GPU MSI GTX970 ARMOR 4GB GDDR5 - $499.00 (cheapest one in singapore)

we've picked out most of the parts already but she just can't decide between the 2 boards,is it worth  the extra $50.00 ? she's expecting the upgrade3s to last her a extra 5 to 6 years before the next upgrade.

Asus B85 Vanguard - $405.00 (5yrs warr)

Gigabyte Z97MX-Gaming 5 - $459.00 (3yrs warr)

here are some reasons for her problems making her confused

she doesn't intend to get a second GPU for SLI

the extra 2 yrs warr on the asus board

the point she doesn't overclock

she likes the red colour for her pink case

the extra usb ports

the future proof of upgrading her 4460 to a broadwell processor later on

the free gift from the shop for buying a gigabyte item above $200.00 a free gigabvte headphones or mouse

thank you for your attention and help thanks guys

if she don't really OC and don't need SLi

could you opt for the H97 from Gigabyte or MSI?

If she is only gaming lightly then there is no real need for a 970 :P

why not settle for something a little less and put more into the CPU, just an idea.

$328 - MSI h81M-E35 (with 4460) at best bargains

the combo which xnoobftw found is great but the H81 need a BIOS update for the mobo to accept the i5 4460 as it is a haswell refresh CPU

MSI H97 PCMate and i5 4460 is more than enough for her

the price of the GTX970 is crazy

now the R9 290 and 290X are the better buy as there are discount for them
