How to control fan speed with this cooler?

I hear that the 3 pin fan cable thats provided with this cooler cannot control the fan speed, resulting in the fans spinning at 100% at all times. 

 

What would I need to control the fan speed of this cooler? I have an ASUS Sabertooth z87.

You can control the speed of any fan on your mobo doesn't matter how many pins it has.

You can do it in the bios all it means is that it doesn't have PWM Control

It appears to come with an adapter from the GPU 4 pin header to either a 4 pin molex for straight 12V or a 3 pin motherboard header for motherboard control. As it has been pointed out above you can plug this directly into your motherboard on a 3 or 4 pin header and use the motherboard to control the fan speeds through voltage regulation. Asus' AI Suite is great for setting a fan curve and you should be able to pick out the specific header (or at least a group of 3 pin headers).
