Hi guys, just got my new computer and started downloading some games like battlefield 4 and pay day 2 both download speeds seem to be capped around 7-6 mmegabytes per second. Using a plug which picks up WiFi and connects to my com

Via lan cable. Home plan is 300mbps. My old com also had speed capped around this , where do you think the bottlebottleneck is ?

Ok, so your home network is 300MB/s?! Dahm! Thought my 50 was high!

But i think it is the modem/router or network cable or wifi connector. Go to speedtest.net and test your speed there.

Also isn't 6~7MB/s enough?

Mbit/s and Mbyte/s are different things.

100mbit/s is roughly 13mbyte/s.

So you could theoreticly have about 35mbyte/s

What category is the LAN cable? cat6, 5e or older?

I suspect the wifi is the bottleneck, Wifi is generally pretty bad.
What wifi card do you have?

haha, don't live in the USA, well supposedly my friend could download it in 15min and that's 4 times faster than mine but he is directly linked to the lan port in his house.

Singapore. SpeedTest.net told me 30mbps lol. Maybe it's the wireless connection

I think it is, yes. But it is also your distance from the server where you download it from. If you live right next to it you get higher speeds than when it is on the other side if the country.

You guys are forgetting something, that 300mbps is to the node thats the connection speed that doesnt mean that other people in the same neighbour hood are taxing the lines and slowing down the whole exchange.
