I have a question how many GTX 970's will I need to run 3 monitors and be able to play games like battlefield 4 and diablo 3 at 55+ fps at 1080p on 60hz monitors will I need to achieve that consistently. I am also wanting to play on mostly ultra settings maybe a few things turned down like AA. I've looked online but cant seem to find a good answer since I keep seeing either mixed results or 4k results and I am only interested in 1080p gaming for the next few years till 4k becomes cheaper and more consistant in triple monitor builds. BTW I will be matching the 970's to a i5-4690k

dual 970s with at least 4GB VRAM should be good for a triple monitor setup...

Or you could go the AMD route and get a single 295X2 or dual 285/290X...

I cant remember the last time i built a pc was back in 2008 and they were mid range gpu's back then and all i played on them was WOW and counterstrike

i know AMD has come a long way since but its still one of those things that leaves a bad taste for them in the future

I'm sorry ;_;

Still @OP, if you can get something from Sapphire (maybe 2x 280Xs) for cheaper (in exchange for power efficiency), grab them... Mantle is something to look at (and hopefully becomes more common)...

Dual 280xs are one 30% faster than a single 290

So I'd go for dual 290s

I will be building my rig sometime in february but i am wanting to get everything figured out what i am going to be working towards before hand so as soon as the money is in hand i can just order it and have it instead of spending a lot of time researching and figuring things out later and possibly delay my build

That's the reason why I suggested an AMD card
