USB Problem - Vengeance 1500

Hello LinusTechTips!

 

I am occurring an issue with my Vengeance 1500 headset and I don't like it. First of all lemme start all over:

 

 

First of all, I came up today morning, my headset was working JUSSSTTT Fine.. it had a blue light shining on the soundcard peice that is attached to the cable with the + and - and the mute mic button and everything was fine. I entered in the PS4 Press Conference to see what happend there etc.. and all of the sudden, I couldn't press the + and - .. it happens all the time cuz my keyboard also got a + - ... so it interfering with it... so I pulled my PC forward to me like I always do, my headset USB was behind and also my keyboard's USB .... I reached to the keyboard USB and plugged it out and tried to back it in.. as soon as I watch back to my PC I see that Windows had disabled a USB device... dunno why. then I checked out my headset and it didn't work.. my USB was unplugged from behind the PC so I plugged it back in, and it didn't work. I tried reinstalling the software of the vengeance.. didn't work... I tried to switch between USB ... didn't work.. I tried looking in the BIOS what's going on.. but nothing worked..

 

Now I have no sound no mic no nothing.. I spent $136.337 US Dollars .. aka. 495 Israeli Shekels (I live in Israel.)

So, let me get this straight, you yanked it out of your computer by mistake?  Is there any visible damage to the USB plug?

Nope.. the cable is fine, the USB is fine.. nothing has happend and this issue occurred today.. I have the headset for 5 months now...

 

but like I said, a Windows message poped up when it happend.. saying Windows disabled a USB Device or something.. that I dunno.. I closed it, I didn't really pay attention to it, and I should've paid attention. :/...

 

P.S. The driver disappeared off the Sound windows system thingy.... it's not there anymore, only the onboard sound card.. not the USB. it should read "DISABLED" .. like my old Plantronics Gamecom 780 which the wires were just cut off...

Great.  Go into your device manager and look for audio devices.  Expand that list and post a picture.

goddamit I read it in peters voice as well.

 

if you killed the usb soundcard well. at least corsair is really nice with their RMA dept. 

 

lol.  I don't think he killed it, I think the driver got disabled somehow.

What does it have to do with my problem?.. I live in Israel, so?

Anyway, the cables are fine.. USB looks OK.. I didn't try it on another PC tho..

I'll keep you guys updated it.

P.S. My receipt is missing so no RMA for me.. I didn't buy the headset.. My mom did <.<...

pretty much all you gotta do is log onto the corsair forums and one of their support techs will help you out. the name I remember because it is so memorable is technobeard. make a post just like this one you made here in the audio subforum and they'll guide you thru the process which is opening an RMA ticket 

age matters not. and I think they have a distro center in europe.

I still insist to seek a way to find out why my Windows blocked my driver ...? .. it's so weird, like I said.. the headset worked perfectly, no problems with the USB .. no NOTHING.. Cable doesn't look flat or anything, the cable is BRADED, so no WAY the wires INSIDE the cable got cut.. no WAY! .. I have so many braded cables in my home, I have put HEAVY things on them, I have spilt a glass of water on them, I have used sharp objects against them, NO harm!!... and I even spilt a COKE on my Vengeance 1500 1 month ago when it was plugged in the power, I thought it's dead... but no?.. it wasn't dead at all.. it worked perfect lol..

 

Like I said, it's a problem with my PC, I dunno how to fix it.. but I contacted Corsair Technical support, YET.. I want an answer here ASAP!

Cables can be damaged internally.

I wouldn't write it off so quick.

Will work for electronic components and parts
