Hey people of LTT forum!

This is just a quick concern, but whenever I boot up my PC, my Intel Core i5-4440's heatsink fan spins REALLY fast and loudly, for about 3 seconds, and then it goes back to normal. Can anyone tell me what you think might be wrong?

Thanks,

Jake

fans need higher voltage to start than to run, so it spins faster

It starts on 100% and then lower it speed. Between motherboards brands/models it can be more noticeable with the Stock fan. So no issue there if only rev up like 3 or 4 seconds on start, but if it bothers you get an aftermarket solution to make it more subtle.

No issue, fans typically run at full speed on start.
