So I am stuck do I buy a single stick of 8GB RAM now or do I get a single stick of 4GB RAM now and get another one later? Also this is for my gaming build im tight on money ATM, its not like i cannot afford to get a 8GB stick but I want to finish my build ASAP.

Any help is much appreciated  :)

Please dont recommend any different DIMM's these are what I want its just my lil dilemma. yes I know that the 4GB has a higher freq but ill have to over clock the DIMM's to get over 1333MHz and I aint doing that because there is no difference for me.

here are the DIMM's:

Kingston Fury Black Series 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 - https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/kingston-memory-hx316c10fb8

Kingston Fury Black Series 4GB (1 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 - https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/kingston-memory-hx318c10fb4

How many slots are on your motherboard?

If its 2 sets of 2 or more then just get the 4 GB for now then you can add upto 3 more later

but if its only 2 then go for the 8 GB

I dont understand, both RAM you listed are over 1333mhz? :S...  go for 4GB now and get another later this will allow you to use Dual Channel mode as well. OR go for 8gb and pair it with another 8GB..... do you need 8GB or 16GB total?

The speed listed is the top overclock of the module there clocked at 1333MHz by default by tour motherboard.

Thanks for your answer and no I dont need 16GB unless i just want to be greedy lol.

Go into your BIOS and select XMP under memory profile. This will put your RAM at its rated speed. By default most motherboards default RAM to 1333.... but ewww

Quack 🦆

If you buy a kit that says its speed is 1600/1866/etc then it is guaranteed to run at those speeds because it's been tested. Just go in your bios and enable XMP to set it. If it does happen to not work then just remove the CMOS battery to reset the values and it'll boot right up.
