Hi, i am switching from an old an old gtx 560 to r9 280, and i can't get to the password screen now, i've installed latest drivers by using mobo in-built HDMI but can't use the R9 280. i have dual monitor set up, and tried using just one but it still wont go pass the windows loading screen it would just go black i could glimpses of my mouse when moving it around but nothing else. i'm trying to avoid reinstalling the OS (windows  8 64bit) Curious if there something else can be done? =(

Best Regards.

yes i did! i actually had it working when i first plugged it in, under Nvidia drivers, but after i removed them it would display anything

I am a little trigger happy on the whole "nuke it and start again" but that is mostly because I have all my games on a separate drive so I do not have to re download them. If you have another drive that you can install windows and boot from to see if it is just a software issue then I would say try that first.
