OBS is a good free streaming piece of software.

I don't think you'll be getting that much quality with your stuff though D:

With your internet and CPU and RAM, nah son. You can stream but I doubt it will be all that great.

so basically i have to upgrade my cpu, ram and gpu to stream well? would i be able to stream 720p with my setup right now?

CPU is the main weakpoint.

If you have an external video encoder you should still be fine.

I would stream at 720p - 60fps.

Also, OBS is a free solution but not great

Xsplit will allow you to do 720p - 30fps and is a much easier software to use. If you want to buy the membership for it to run better it runs about $5 a month.

I don't think the GPU will be a big deal compared to the CPU and RAM. But you're gonna need those threads and cores of the i7 to stream decently. Streaming software can really take a hit on performance.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

If you get a Nvidia GPU you can use ShadowPlay to stream. I do it all the time with an i3 and a 770. 720p no additional lag.

6mbit up is fine, anything past 4000kbit looks perfect, just stream at 30fps at 720p, you are fine.

PEWDIEPIE DONT CROSS THAT BRIDGE

720p is fine but 1080p will be bad, you'd only have to upgrade to a 4690K (new motherboard too of course) to do 1080p with quick sync video and OBS.

Get a Cooler Master Hyper 212 CPU cooler and overclock the 2500K, it should give you a decent performance boost.

Check and see if your motherboard supports quicksync, it barely affects performance.

i actually have that cooler right now! and my motherboard is a MSI Z68A-G45

I would just try it. Your GPU is lacking for modern games at higher settings, so I would reccomend upgrading that soon.

I am not sure what upgrading to a newer i5 will do. Like I said, give it a try as-is. If you are upgrading your CPU, you might as well get an i7. The performance difference between an overclocked 2500K and a newer i5 isn't much. So if you are dropping $$$, might as well get a decenty upgrade or wait for another generation of i5.

will try streaming! if im not successful might not even have to drop more $$$ on giving up performance to little or no viewers
