How will my 980 do?

Go to solution Solved by Fate,

No it will not. You should not listen to the person who told you that, they are an idiot.

I was recently told that since I have 1600 MHz DDR3 8GB Patriot Viper 3 RAM that it would stop the performance of a planned Superclocked ACX 2.0 EVGA GTX 980. I was also told that since I have some old hard drive (which I plan to upgrade) that it would effect in game performance. I do currently have an i7-4790K and an MSI Z97 Gaming 5 Mobo. So the question is, will my ram and my hard drive really change my performance in game?

I just bought the exact card you are talking about, and since our other components are similar (I have an SSD for games, but an I5 CPU compared to your I7) I can tell you with the rest of your build you will not be disappointed with performance.

Thanks I can't wait!

That guy doesn't know anything Haha. It won't bottleneck anything. The hard drive is for loading programs and games. And your ram is fine, that is what most gamers use. You will be fine.
