So about a month or so ago I had wishlisted a gtx970 and it was about $320 USD, i just had a look at my list again preparing for black friday/cyber monday and i saw that most gtx 970 are now going for 400-430$ including the one i had on list...What in the world happened?! Is demand really that high for this card?  Zotac is the only one thats still 330$...

The Asus STRIX 970 is still in the $350 range, and still the one I would recommend.

NCIX

Newegg (out of stock though)

I really wish that we'd just make organic hardware already, that grows and adapts to the demands it needs to meet. That way, grannies' computers can be floppy sacks of organicness and the 12 year old Minecrafters will look like the guys that only do bicep curls, and the nerdy programmers will finally have justice, with their body-builder rigs that skipped leg day.

But to have all but one brand's card all go up by about the same amount seems odd for supply and demand, and apparently its its just amazon with the marked up prices. presale markup to looks like a sale later?

It's not amazon that's selling it, just a seller on amazon selling it.....

Supply and demand, basic economics. Everyone is swiggity swooty going for the 970 booty, so they are able to charge more. Additionally they MAY be low on 970 (not sure haven't checked) which makes 970 a more rare item that can be charged more for.
