Alright, so for November 2015 I would have earned approximately $3276 from work (Part Time Job 7 hrs a week) and in November next year I will be spending it.

Now my two options,

Firstly, was to spend it all on a rig with peripherals [(http://au.pcpartpicker.com/user/DeadEyeKozi/saved/PFMXsY) - Still deciding on case and PSU]

which I was and still am really excited for. But then it occurred to me that by that time I would be entering final year of high school and I probably wouldn't use the full potential of this machine.

So I thought of another option which is to spend around $1000 on a rig and peripherals and then the remaining 2k on an Ipad, Macbook and a PS4.

I know a lot of you hate consoles and macs but these are my reasons for them.

PS4) Most of my mates have one and probably wouldn't be able to play the games I could if I purchased the $3000 rig.

Mac) Extremely light weight with a simple interface which would be perfect for studying and basic Internet usage.

Now all I'm asking for is an unbiased (ah just throw in your own opinion :) ) opinion as to which option is more sensible and if possible a reason because this is really bugging me :/

Also, if you like you could throw in your own opinion on how you would spend the $3000 (AUD Btw) relating to tech though.

Thanks so much.

The laptop would be for work, the Ipad for productivity and the PS4 for social entertainment as most of my friends own one.

I'd say buy a mac or an iPad, don't really think you need both as macbooks are pretty lightweight and nifty. There are probaby going to come recomendations for other laptops, so unless you really want a mac you should check those out.

If you want a great laptop for school, get a chromebook. I use one every day at school and it's perfect.

I work at Best Buy, and chromebooks are the highest selling laptops that we carry. They can do everything a mac can within Chrome and are a fraction of the price. Besides, this guy has a limited budget, so it'd be better to spend less on his laptop and more on his gaming rig. It's what I did. I mean, if you have the money to blow, macs are unbeatable. But this is a highschool student on a budget, so I say go for the 300$ laptop instead of the 1300$ one.

Thanks for the suggestion although I don't need to cut down the price of the build.

How about spending 2k and saving 1 ;)

That would probably be a smart idea as I will eventually need a car although I really want to spend it :P

Get a 1000$ rig and spend the rest on iPad, MacBook, PS4

Yeah. Just need to find a rig and compare it

I don't really see the need for a Macbook, and iPad. There are cheaper solutions that are just as good.

Suggestions?

Yeah. Just need those reccomendations

Yeah, still thinking

Ill watch a review for it later

I can say, as far as iPads go, that I NEVER thought that I would really ever use one. My mum was trying to convince me how much she used hers and how useful it was and I just didn't think I would use it. Then after I caved into the constant "you should get an iPad" spiel, I eventually bought one and haven't looked back since. I use it every day (I'm even using it right now to type this) and find it extremely useful and convenient. It's the best $750 that I've ever spent. So @DeadEyeKozi, I would highly recommend them just FYI. You won't regret purchasing one at all.

Now, I know several of you are probably thinking that I'm some Apple fanboy, but that is far from the truth, I just have an appreciation for such a device. I find I'm using it more than my desktop or laptop at the moment because it's just so incredibly convenient. :)

Have to agree since I got an iPad I always use it a LOT. It is really convenient to take into the toilet as well and read/watch things on it.
