I've tried to root thiss phone using many different applications like towelroot and farmaroot but none of them work. If anyone has this phone and rooted it could you possibly show me how you did this.

Thanks

Liam

what version of android are you using currently? I'm pretty sure towelroot only works on kitkat (and before security patches have been done on the OEM side)

Just saying XDA is dedicated to all things like that. Also I wasn't being an arsehole i was just saying XDA will probably be a better place for information.

as I have previously said, no it's not. The community there is worse than here.

So far there is no method available to root specifically the Xperia E3. If universal methods like Towelroot and Framaroot don't work, you're out of luck for now.

alright thanks

No problem. Due to the way the kernel works in KitKat now, many devices that are not well known that come with KitKat out of the box are starting to become unrootable, at least for the time being. Thats why when people want a phone for rooting and ROMs, a more mainstream phone is recommended.

I'm using 4.4.2

then it's probably patched by OEMs.

You are probably going to have to do the traditional method, but be wary, with Sony and bootloader unlocks, they do things such as have the camera not work, I don't know how old the E3 is so.

It will not have root then as the kernel for KitKat was patched by OEMs months before. My Alcatel Fierce 2 was met with a pretty big T-Mo launch in September as well, and up till now still has no root method.
