I have a 5 year old motherboard that only has sata II, but I want an ssd to put my os on to experience the speed as well as refresh my computer.

(Already puchased another 6gb of ram to go from 6gb to 12gb and will purchase a R9 290 tonight for 269.99 that will replace my 4850 X2.)

I have a few questions bros.

How bad is the speed going to be compared to if I actually had Sata III?

Is there some kind of adapter that will allow me to get the full speed of the ssd? (Maybe something that goes into the pci lane, idk.)

How difficult would it be to get my operating system off of this 1tb WD HDD and onto the 128gb ssd. (I have the 128 samsung 850)

Sata II has a maximum speed of 300mbps while Sata III has 600mbps, so sata II is still faster than hdd's as said previously so it is worth the upgrade.

You are on tech forum. Please make difference between MB and Mb.

Just plug a SSD, over SATA II still faster than any HDD...

Okay, so I will definitely go ahead and buy one. They are only 100 dollars after all.

How difficult is it to transfer my os over?
