So that is around £500/$800.

For your budget and first build I think that spec will be fine for gaming.

My Rig!

^that and where are you wanting to buy the parts?

Have you heard of pcpartpicker.com? It's a great way to plan and share potential builds.

I am planning on getting my parts from a local retailer. They charge 10 dollars for the assembly of parts.

So that is around £500/$800.

For your budget and first build I think that spec will be fine for gaming.

Any improvements? I think the gpu can be better. Perhaps an Nvidia alternative? I have a little wiggle room for my budget.

It would be, I use one myself and it will play any game at full HD with no lag, with the RAM though you are better off using 2x 4GB sticks, that way if 1 fails you can still use your computer. The rest of it though looks pretty good though, my computer is very close to what your planning on, when it was built it had:

Core i5 4440

Asus H87M-Pro

1TB Western Digital Blue 7200RPM

2x 4GB Kingston 1333 MHz

Thermaltake Commander MS-I case with a 500W power supply

TI 24x DVD multi recorder

Stock CPU cooler (all you really need on the non K versions of the i series)

Gigabyte GTX 650 Ti 2GB

Apacer multi card reader (cheap and it hates 32GB class 10 cards and transferring more than 1GB at a time)

That cost me just under $1150 Australian Dollars at the start of February. Since then however I've added another 8GB RAM, a Gigabyte G! Gaming GTX 970 (its quiet and doesn't have any coil whine) and a Corsair VS650-650W power supply as the original one didn't have the right connectors. But since your not in Australia you shouldn't get overcharged as much. My GTX 970 cost $565.95 in the cheapest local store, while another one had them at over $670

A gtx 970 costs 450 in singapore. Thanks! Great help. Well i generally expect to play Skyrim with a lot of mods and a full enb retexture mod. Also, I hope to be able to play upcoming titles at smooth frame rates and high settings. Is a 970 good enough?

Skyrim runs at full settings and at full HD so you'll love it, and since they all have 4GB of memory it won't have any problems, unless you go 2K+ for the screen resolution. I just finished a session of Battlefield 4, full HD and graphics with no problems as well so go for it if you can.

Can't access the link, could you copy and paste the build? And if your planning on doing video editing/rendering I'd recommend a 6 core i7 as the CPU, since the more cores you have the faster you will be able to get things done, plus your computer would be fine for quite a while before it becomes obsolete.

Looking at what your getting, it should be more than sufficient, especially if you ever have a go at overclocking that cpu.

Thank you. Do you think there is some room to overclock the GPUs too?

Your welcome.

For me, if I was going to overclock the GPU I'd go with a 750W PSU, that way you have plenty of headroom. And if you do overclock, these are the settings I'd recommend as they are easily stable and won't push the cards to their limits:

Not sure you need a Hero over the Ranger? Might save you $40 or so.

You might want a 7200rpm HDD if you plan on running any games off it. Maybe 1x1TB 7200 and 1x5TB 5400 see what price impact that has?

You could go top tier single 980? With the cheaper PSU (look at the Superflower Leadex 650, it will kick EVGA and Corsair to the curb) and Mobo there may be no additional cost.

Also 32GB RAM, check you need that much, some might say you only need 16GB MAX unless you virtual machines?

Thats my two cents.

Also, if you are planning on using it for online gaming with your beast then don't use wireless for it. You need to hard wire to a router.

My Rig!
