What would you be doing, since you're getting an i7? If you're just playing games and minor video editing/recordin, get 4690k. And maybe get an 1866 or 2133 Mhz RAM.

Why do you need two HDDs in raid if you already have an SSD?

Just buy a 2TB drive. Much safer and simpler.

I'm guessing he wants be safe than sorry, and 1 hard drive is not safer (I think) because if it fails, all are gone, unlike RAID 1, the files are written on both drives, so if one fails, the other drive still has everything

Looks like a good build, it's has a bit unbalanced cpu/gpu ratio, but you can upgrade to sli in the future. Your case says it's purchased for $0.00 which is misleading in relation to your budget. I would recommend not using the box cooler with the 4790k, it's a waste and loud. I would stick with the i7, games will eventually start utilizing more cores, and it's snappier then the i5s.

do you already have a monitor?

If you are planning to go with an I7, I recommend getting a cpu cooler, are you planning on overclocking?

I already purchased the case, and i have all my peripherals. What aio liquid cooler would you recommend? I'm going with a blue and black color scheme so id prefer it lights up blue on the cpu.

This is one of the best you can get, http://www.swiftech.com/H220-X.aspx, otherwise I would get a corsair h105 http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Series-Extreme-Performance-CW-9060016-WW/dp/B00HKEI3EY

I would steer clear from h100i's, people experience mounting issues often and corsair link is horrible.
