laptop HDD for desktop?

i have no idea
Go to solution Solved by Gofspar,

ok thanks, will the connection be the same tho? i mean using a sata connector and a sata power cable?

For me yeah, unless its some HDD from 1990 that uses IDE.

sorry for noob question but i don't really know a lot about PC's

is it possible to use a laptop hard drive on desktop?

i'm only asking because i don't won't to download all my games again :/ (its close to 200 GB on the disk)

will it break the install of windows that is on the disk as everything will be different eg: the CPU, GPU, ram, etc, etc ??????

will it be a better idea to try and mirror the steam folder on to a new drive?

any help will be appreciated.

Most laptop's weren't created for being open and parts being moved, but theoretically it could work.

Desktop: i7-4790k, Samsung 840 EVO 250GB, Seagate Barracuda 3TB, 2xR9 290 Vapor-X's (1 working atm), Asus Z97-Pro, NZXT H440 White, 16GB G. Skill Sniper RAM, NZXT HALE V90 850W.

Laptop: Samsung Chromebook 11.6"

Phone: 8GB Galaxy S4
