Assuming you have a capable streaming device that can pump out 144fps, can a laptop with an A10 cpu and mini display port put out 144fps? Or does the integrated gpu have some sort of max fps output limit (like a max supported resolution)?

TL;DR would it be possible to stream to this laptop to a 144hz panel connected via DP?

BUt if you are talking about max refresh rate that is usually depicted by the display type and revision of input

That I know, I meant if the L440 would be able to output (and fully utilize 1080p @ 144hz) assuming it gets a 144fps stream.

You should be able to output at 144hz, but whether you can actually get stuff like games to play at 144 fps is what really depends.

I don't see why it'd limit it.

I cannot be held responsible for any bad advice given.

I've no idea why the world is afraid of 3D-printed guns when clearly 3D-printed crossbows would be more practical for now.

My rig: The StealthRay. Plans for a newer, better version of its mufflers are already being made.

The HDMI 1.4 spec doesn't support 1080p@144hz

HDMI 1.4 is limited to 1080p@60fps, It can handle higher resolutions, but the spec doesn't allow it to reach 120/144hz.

Theoretically, a 3D tv at 60hz is refreshing at 120hz; however there is still only a 60hz signal being sent (but it's two 60hz signals -- left/right).

but it does and that is why a lot of 1080p 144hz monitors us hdmi

But it doesn't. There are very few true 120hz TVs.

3D tvs are true 120hz, however it's not really 120hz. It's two 60hz signals (left and right images), and most other 1080p 120hz monitors are receiving a 60hz signal and interpolating it to 120hz.

There is a reason there is not a single 144hz monitor exists that can display 144hz over HDMI(1.4 anyway). They all do it over display port or dual link dvi.

Yes, they have HDMI inputs, however they don't run at 144hz on those inputs.

*To activate 144Hz function (in 2D mode), both DisplayPort (or Dual-link DVI) and a selected graphics card with the latest driver are required.
