Good racing games

What are some good racing games for pc? Something similar to Gran turismo 5 would be awesome. :)

i really like the dirt series, especially 2. its got a good range of different track types and surfaces. i really wish forza was on pc.

Well i play grid and i like the layout of the races but i don't like the lack of customizability. And i find the NFS games a bit too unrealistic, not to say grid is. Has anyone played Grid 2?

Trackmania is the most fun I have had in a racing game.

Yeah I got Grid 2 now and I love the actual racing, but the lack of customisation / tuning is what's holding it back from being great, oh and cockpit view

GRID is by far one of the best racing games ever. GRID2 really disappointing for a true fan of the first release.

It will also depend if you prefer simulators or arcade games. For arcade I would recommend the Dirt series from Codemaster. For sims I would recommend Richard Burns Rally, but it is really old, with crappy graphics for today standards.

I've tried some of the free to play racing games on steam and i have to say i didn't like them. Wis Forza or Gran Turismo was for pc :(
