My computer's specs are amd a-10 6700 3.7Ghz for my processor and my graphics card is amd radeon r9 270x i have 12gb and windows 7 I have been playing battlefield 4 and monitoring my gpu usage with MSI Afterburner and while playing I am only using 55% of my gpu is this a bad thing could my performance/fps be increased by doing something?

It might be your CPU bottlenecking your GPU.

My settings are on High but it doesnt change my fps putting them lower which i find weird

Mantle is a new Graphics API developed by AMD to let game developers have deeper access to the hardware to squeeze out better performance.

Some say it looks worse than DX11, but I see no difference. 

It is worth using it since many users with "low end processors" (like you) gain huge frame increases by using it.

Well playing battlefield 4 on high or ultra max settings i get 28-90fps its pretty varying tbh

Try using Mantle and come back.

I think it's something else bottlenecking your GPU. (Like your CPU. WHY U HAVE A KAVERI!)

It's your CPU. Mantle would only be a temporary solution.

You should look into upgrading your CPU sooner or later.

I recommend a Z97 board with a i5-4690K.

or a 6300 for $99 + a biostar TA-970 for $45

 

BF4 can use up to 8 cores, and many modern games have been shown to use 6 or more.

How  much of an increase do you think this would make? Also i have a corsair 650watt psu just for reference.

I think you should be fine, but give me a rundown of your entire specs.

Alright then,

Graphics: R9 270x Superclocked Edition (Did no over overclocking myself)

Cpu: AMD a-10 6700 3.7Ghz

Ram: 12gb

My monitor is also pretty horid lol 1440x900

PSU: Corsair 650watt

My motherboard is Asus not really sure exactly what it is
