PSU Coil Whine

Yiz
Go to solution Solved by WinNut,

Yes, it's perfectly fine.

Coil whine will cause no damage, at best it'll just get you really pissed off.

Mmmk, so I thought that my MSI GTX 970 was producing the coil whine sound. Though now I'm almost 99% postive that it's my PSU. It coils whines when uber high fps and it coil whine when running something stressfulish. Just want to know if it's normal for a Corsair HX850w Gold?

Thanks, all I heard was that it was normal in GPU's, not so much in PSU's. Thanks man! Thankfully it's not terribly loud, just concerning enough to ask.

If it bugs you, try to RMA it.

Couldn't I just get the same PSU :P It got fantastic reviews, I think i just got a lemon. Though I seem to get alot of lemons. Ordered a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014. Only half the screen worked... lol. But I will give it a week and if it bothers me enough I'll return or just get a different one.
