installed a new gpu nothing displays

So i got a gtx 970 today i installed it in the computer thinking that i already had the drivers from nvidia and nothing displayed. 

so i was like "ok" and i took it out and put my gtx 770 back in hoping to install from the cd and then it wouldnt display either, then i tried my integrated graphics even though i knew that was probably futile.

anyway the display isnt working any ideas?

make sure the bios is set up correctly

what kind of display is it? are you using an HDMI cable? is the bios set to auto for graphic/display adapter?

Did you try all of the video cards in a different pci-e slot to see if you destroyed the one pci-e slot you usually use?

Also check for a loose or disconnected HDMI cable or whatever you are using at the back of your display.

im not sure if a reset the bios the problem is i cant really get into it now to change it to auto. hdmi cables are fine and the problem originated with me trying to use a different pci slot.
