WD Blue problem

Suddently my hard disk has become so slow: after the motherboard's logo remains a black screen for about 5 minutes, when i log in into windows the hard disk stay at 100% even if nothing is using it. I started Acronis Drive Monitor and it has a "warning" on Current Pending Sector Count. Can someone help me?

Run a "chkdsk /f" command from an elevated command prompt.

it'll ask you (if this is your C drive) if you want to schedule the check for when you reboot, chose yes, and reboot your PC.

Download and run WD's Diagnostic Tool and see if the HDD is bad or not.

If you're still waiting, the chkdsk was unsuccessful, or the system is completely bogged down with infestation.

 

It's possible that your drive has partially failed.

Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer > Windows Logs > Application > Wininit

when i try to open it says that "Service event log is not available. verify that the service is running"

Hi there, 

I'm sorry to say that but you need to backup all your data as soon as possible. It's a good idea to start with the most important files first. You should be able to copy all data in time if you are not using the HDD for anything else. The WD Data Life Guard Diagnostics Status Code 07 means that the drive is defective and you need to replace it.  The same goes for 102.  You can check the WD DLGD error codes list here: 


 

There is a chance that it's not the HDD that's failing but the cable or the SATA port and I would try swapping those. But only after all the data is transferred to a different HDD.

I just finished transferring all my stuff, later I try to swap port. it's strange because after it has loaded Windows everything works fine

I don't think that the extended test could help in this case. It will just check the whole HDD sector by sector. It's good if you're looking for bad sectors. You can run it anyway, it shouldn't cause any harm.

Have you tested it by connect it to another computer through USB?

 

Or maybe you can try by chkdsk/r to recover and mark bad sector if available.
